Hi, I'm Ms Jay.
I'm a registered teacher in both Hong Kong and Australia, with over a decade of experience at a leading ESF school in Hong Kong, and a chemical engineer by training. My background combines serious subject depth with real classroom practice — which means I know both the content and how students actually learn it.
My teaching philosophy
Every student has a starting point, and it deserves respect. My job isn't to pile on more work — it's to find the gap, close it with clear steps, and build confidence that carries over into everything else. Warm, structured, and honest: that's how I teach.
What I specialise in
I offer online one-to-one tutoring across a focused range of subjects: Primary Maths (Years 4–6), Maths & Science (Years 7–11), A Level Chemistry, IB Diploma Chemistry (SL & HL), and VCE Chemistry (Units 1–4). Wherever your child is studying, lessons stay aligned with their own school syllabus. Because my lessons are online, I can support students anywhere — whether that's Hong Kong, the UK, Australia, or further afield.
How I work with families
Every engagement begins with a free 60-minute trial class that includes a short diagnostic test. You see the teaching style, your child gets real value from the session, and I get a clear picture of their current level, strengths and any gaps. From there, we agree on focus areas and a regular session schedule that works for your family.
